Dr Sarah Densham
Clinical Psychologist
Experience & Qualifications
I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist, and an EMDR therapist, based in Poole, Dorset. I have over 10 years of experience working across a range of NHS settings, supporting individuals facing both mental health and physical health challenges. I completed a BSc in Psychology at the University of Exeter, followed by an MSc in Health Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
As human beings, we are always evolving, and I believe therapy should evolve with us. I stay engaged in ongoing professional development and training so I can bring fresh perspectives, skills, and insights into the therapy room.
As a Therapist
I offer a warm, down to earth and collaborative approach where you can show up just as you are. I see therapy as a safe,
supportive and non-judgemental space where you don’t need to have everything figured out before you start. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or seeking to better understand yourself and your emotional world, I always intend to support your growth in a way that feels meaningful and manageable.
Because I know that one size doesn’t fit all, my approach is evidence-based but always personalised. I draw from a range of therapeutic models in my practice - every person is different, and so is the way we work together.
Additional post-qualification training in therapy models:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
-
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
